CREATE the Conditions for Learning
A 4-day summer institute in Chicago. First you learn The Five Conditions for Learning, what every brain needs in order to learn. Then you learn how to CREATE those conditions for the learners you support. It brings the core of my work together in one place. Bring a team: when educators, specialists, and leaders learn the same system together, they can work together all year.
This is an interest form. Choose the weeks that work for you, and if enough people are interested, I will open registration and you will hear from me first.
What you will learn
The whole system, in 4 days
- The Five Conditions for Learning. What every brain needs in order to learn, and how to see which condition is not being met when a learner is struggling.
- How to CREATE the conditions. The planning practice that builds the five conditions into the way you teach and support learners.
- The Developmental Progressions. What to expect from the brain at each age and stage, from birth to 26, so expectations and supports match where a learner is in their development.
- The Levels of Learning Matrix and the Feedback Autonomy Paradox. Learn what to teach, how, and when, and how to give feedback in a way that protects the learner's autonomy, so learners stop shutting down or just going through the motions.
- Hands-on and active. You experience each idea before we name it, and you work with others the whole time.
- A 1-year membership to TheLearningFramework.org. Every attendee receives a full year of access to the resources on the website.
